§ The Purpose of
Study
The study aims at investigating:
1.
The types of
conversational implicature done by lecturers in classroom activity.
2.
The purposes of
the lecturers do conversational implicature.
§ Theory
This study uses Grice
theory (1965) that explains about the term of implicit meaning delivered by
speaker sometimes cannot be understood well by the hearers. It occurs because
there are hidden meaning behind the conversation between the speaker and
hearers. In this case, implicature is
the study that focuses on this phenomena in doing communication. Then,
implicature itself is divided into two types these are conventional and
conversational implicature. Besides, this study will analyse about
conversational implicature that often found in spoken and written language.
§ Previous Study
In previous study, there
are several topics that analysed about the conversational implicature. All
these studies are using implicature theory but using different area of subject
such as:

Conversational
implicature on The Chew talk show.
2.
Generating
conversational implicature strategies on the advertisements of Vogue Magazine.
3.
Conversational implicature
used by stepmother character in Cinderella
movie 2015.
4.
Properties of
conversational implicatures on Iran nuclear deal interview 2015.
In
this case, my study uses conversational implicature but the subject of study is
using the conversation of lecturers in the classroom based on the activity. It
will fill the gab among these previous studies because the area of subject is quite
different.
